Fascial Release through Movement and Touch

Fasciatherapy is a gentle manual approach that works on fascia, these connective tissue membranes that envelop and connect each structure of the body. Developed by Dr Danis Bois, it combines precise therapeutic touch with careful listening to the body's internal movements. With Massaya, your certified therapist comes to your home in Montreal and Greater Montreal, 7 days a week.

What is fasciatherapy?

Fascia forms a continuous three-dimensional network that runs throughout the body — it envelops muscles, organs, nerves and bones, and transmits mechanical forces in all directions. When fascia is tight, fibrous or adherent as a result of trauma, surgery, poor posture or chronic stress, it creates mechanical restrictions that impact the entire body.

Fasciatherapy works to release these tensions through slow, deep pressure, fascial stretching and listening to the body's internal micro-movements. It is both a physical and psycho-corporeal approach — fascia also stores emotional traces, and their release can be accompanied by deep emotional relaxation.

The benefits of fasciatherapy

  • Improved posture — Releasing fascial restrictions restores mechanical balance to the body and corrects postural compensations.
  • Chronic pain reduction — Particularly effective for widespread pain, fibromyalgia, tension headaches and pain without an obvious structural cause.
  • Post-traumatic recovery — After a fall, accident, surgery or old sprain, fasciatherapy helps reabsorb deep scar adhesions.
  • Psycho-corporeal well-being — By working on the fascia, we also work on emotional tensions — many people experience a significant emotional release during the sessions.
  • Improved joint mobility — Fascial restrictions limit range of motion — releasing them restores natural, fluid mobility.
